The Nordic Chef Competition Linie Award takes place in Oslo, Norway, 1st of June at Tjuvholmen Sjømagasin. Linie Award was
originally created as a competition for young, Nordic chefs prior to the 200 year anniversary of Linie Aquavit in 2007; in
1805 – 1807 the first casks of Linie Aquavit were sent on their journey across the equator. and back. Cask maturation by sea,
has been, and still is, a crucial part in the making of Linie Aquavit.
Young Nordic chefs will compete to create the winning recipe based on Nordic ingredients. The dish the chefs will compose
should be based on Nordic seafood, should include 5 components of Nordic ingredients and be served as a warm main course combined
with Linie Aquavit as an accompanying beverage.
Linie Award 2010 will start at Tjuvholmen Sjømagasin on Tuesday the 1st of June. The participating Nordic Journalists are invited to attend on a "Ingredient Safari" in the Oslo
Fjord with rib boats.
After the ingredient safari the Nordic journalists will attend a pressevent/seminar where the competing chefs for the Linie Award 2010 will be presented.
Later on, invited guests and Nordic journalists will experience the LIVE session of Linie Award 2010 where they can follow the last 60 minutes of the competition where the elected chef compete in the kitchen of Tjuvholmen Sjømagasin for this years Linie Award trophy.
